Arthropleura (meaning "rib joint") was a large relative of centipedes and millipedes that lived during the Late Carboniferous and Early Permian periods.

It grew to about 2.6 metres or 8.5 feet long and is the largest known land arthropod. It is thought that Arthropleura ate both, animals and plants.
