Cephalaspis lyelli1

Fossil of Cephalaspis lyelli

Cephalaspis ("Head Shield") was a bony-armored jawless fish (Ostracoderm) that lived during the early Devonian period about 415–398 million years ago.

Its size ranged from goldfish-sized to trout-sized.

The cephalaspis had sensitive skin on it's face that can feel movement in the water around it.
