The name Dacentrurus means "Very Sharp Tail". Dacentrurus is a herbivore from Mid-Late Jurassic England, Portugal, France, and Spain. It is considered as a Stegosauridae, because it was described as one in 1902 by Lucas. It was originally named Omosaurus, but it was renamed after it was discovered that there already was an extinct crocodile named Omosaurus. It was the first stegosaur to be discovered
