Doedicurus

Doedicurus (meaning "Pestle tail") was genus of glyptodont from North and South America. It lived during the Pleistocene epoch, and wnt extinct approximately 15,000 years ago. It was quite a large animal, growing up to 4 metres, and was well defended too, with a spiked tail, and hard shell, so predators such as Smilodon, and terror birds wouldn't have been a problem for it. It was a close relative of ground sloths, such as Megatherium, which lived alongside it.
