Sauropelta (Meaning "Lizard shield") was a type of nodosaur from North America. It appeared in the Late Creteceous period, and is the best nodosaur known to science, and it's known for it's large shoulder spikes. Like other nodosaurs, it was a herbivore, feeding on low growing plants.
