Guanlong was a small basal tyrannosaur from the Late Jurassic Period in China. It is known from several near complete skelotons, and represents the origins of the tyrannosaurs. It was 10 feet and 3 metres long ferocious carnivore with a crest on its head, which is unusual since it was a tyrannosaur. The name Guanlong means "Crowned Dragon".
