Pegomastax ( meaning " Strong Jaw) was a heterodontosaurid found in the Early Jurassic rocks in South Africa in the year of 1966-1967. It had fangs, which were probably used for defence. Even though it was found in the 1960's, it was recognized as unusual by Paul Sereno in the 1980's. He just recently described and named it, in 2012. It was about 2 feet long. It had spikes on it, many spikes. Instead of having big spikes like all of the stegosaurs, it had thin, long ones.
