Postosuchus (meaning "crocodile from Post (Garza, Texas)") was a rauisuchian an animal related to crocodylomorphs like Deinosuchus and to the dinosaurs. Postosuchus lived during the late Triassic period 228-202 million years ago.
Postosuchus was one of the top predators of its time. It was much larger than the meat eating dinosaurs of that time (such as Coelophysis). Postosuchus was about 4–5 meters (12–15 feet) long and had a crocodile-like snout, filled with many large-sized dagger-like teeth.
Postosuchus probably preyed on dicynodont therapsids and many other creatures smaller than itself.
