Titanoboa (meaning "Titan boa") was a type of snake that lived in South America between 60 and 58 million years ago. At 12 metres long, 1 metre wid, and 1135 kg, it is the longest, largest, and heaviest snake ever recorded, beating the the previous record holder, Gignatophis.
