Titanophoneus potens (meaning "Potent giant murderer") was a carnivorous dinocephalian therapsid (a relative of mammals) that lived during middle and late Permian period in Russia.
Description[]
As an adult T. Potens was about 2.85 m long and it's skull was about 80cm long. Like many other therapsid carnivores T. potens had quite long upper canines and large incisors. As a dinocephalian Titanophoneus had somewhat sprawling stance and it also had a long tail unlike more mammalian theriodont therapsids (like gorgonopsians and cynodonts).
