Xiphactinus was a bony fish that lived during late Cretaceous period in the Western Interior Sea, that is now at the middle of North America. Xiphactinus was large, about 15 to 20 feet or 4.5 to 6 m long predatory fish. It was a voracious predator that was able to swallow large prey.
